S L O W . Day on, day off. Double each day of the week so that a year takes two laps around the Sun. Learn to live without oil and other dirty energy during "Off Days" so that the remaining energy lasts twice as long. Stay home and work and play with aliens. For emergency workers and other essential daily workers, train and hire to double their number so they can also take a vacation every other day.

T A X . Only tax: dirty energy. End all taxes but one, funding governments solely through a tax on the use of dirty, limited-source energy such as energy produced from petroleum oil, natural gas, coal and nuclear fuels. An extreme tax on dirty energy use creates a strong incentive to find alternatives or to learn to do without.

L A N G U A G E . New alien-friendly language for everyone. Erase communication barriers from multiple evolved lanaguages by designing a new official planetary language that avoids confusion. Use a drawing or a series of drawings as the single, official definition of each word.

B A B Y . Half birthright per person. Use the free market to start reducing the population to match the long term carrying capacity of the planet. For each additional baby, pay two people to get sterilized without children to transfer their birthrights. Pocos born without a birthright are not citizens but they can become citizens by buying half a birthright by paying the going rate to pay somebody to get sterilized and use their own half birthright by getting sterilized themselves.

While we are waiting for an international treaty to implement SLOW-TAX-LANGUAGE-BABY, maybe we can find some leadership from the annual, week-long Burning Man festival. They need to get more work done there and not just play the whole time, but the party has the potential to be the de facto gathering of creative, independent thought leaders on the planet. Day on, day off leadership for Burning Man would mean that they have the event every other year to cut oil usage by half. Already promoting awareness of gifting inside the party, it is time to step it up. There should be a way for anybody who makes it to the gate to work in exchange for entrance. A gifting party that has no mechanism for dedicated gifters to gift their way in has some serious issues.
